The RN has expertise in the application of the nursing process within the Perioperative setting, has the ability to manage stressful/unusual situations in a positive manner, and embraces the OHSU Core Competencies (Accountability, Collaboration, Communication, Diversity, Integrity, Respect, Service Orientation, Teamwork) into his/her practice. The RN must practice within Oregon law and adhere to AORN standards and recommended practices.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> REQUIRED: Current unencumbered Oregon Nursing License, BLS Certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Minimum requirement of this position (SOR Perioperative Internship Program): Completion of the senior leadership/integrated practicum with the clinical site being one of our OR sites and or completion of the Mt. Hood Community College Perioperative Nursing class with OHSU Main/SOR as the clinical site one. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and listening skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team, and the flexibility to delegate, prioritize, and adapt in stressful situations. Ability to multi-task and prioritize work flow. Ability to work as a team member in a interdisciplinary setting. Demonstrate effective communication in both verbal, written, and electronic media. Computer/word processing skills. Preferred: BSN.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> Requires prioritization of multiple projects, activities, and assignments. May be exposed to excessive auditory and visual stimulaiton. May be exposed to body fluids, tissue, and infectious processes. Subject to computer work for several hours, as needed.
