               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Registered Nurse<BR> <BR>Department Bone Marrow Transplant<BR> <BR>Location <BR> <BR>Work Unit Description <BR> <BR> Bone Marrow Transplant, KPV 14<BR> <BR>Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range <BR> <BR> 0.9 FTE; 12-hr night shifts, 1900 - 0730, including every other weekend; Location: Marquam Hill.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> The Registered Nurse working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team has the primary responsibility for and provides direct and indirect professional nursing care for patients. The Registered Nurse assesses patient and family needs, develops a plan of care, implements and evaluates the care delivered. The Registered Nurse is expected to practice in accordance with professional standards, core values, and with a commitment to service excellence. 14K is the Stem Cell Transplant/Hematologic Malignancy unit at OHSU. We perform over 160 allogeneic and autologous stem cell transplants annually. 14K is a 30 bed unit and the usual nurse to patient ratio is 1:3. There are typically 10 nurses on each 12 hour shift. The patients on this unit are cared for by a multi-disciplinary team which includes attending physicians, nurse practitioners and physician's assistants, dietician, occupational therapist, social worker, case manager, and pharmacists. This team approach encourages collegiality and a good learning environment. Orientation for new employees is tailored to the needs and experience of the individual. Hospital orientation to policies, equipment, and the computer system occur prior to orientation on the unit which typically lasts between 6 to 15 shifts.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Required: Current, unencumbered Oregon RN license and BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association. Will accept new Grads with Oncology rotations or immersion. Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification within six (6) months of hire. Fluency in oral and written English. Verifiable by reference: Excellent communication, team skills, time management, and customer service. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. walk or stand constantly for 12 hours, twist, bend and reach. Basic computer skills. Preferred: BSN. One (1) - three (3) years HM/BMT experience. OCN preferred. Current ONS Chemo provider. Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
