<td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Registered Nurse<BR> <BR>Department Pre-Surgical/Post Anesthesia Care Unit<BR> <BR>Location OHS 6B30<BR> <BR>Work Unit Description <BR> <BR> Pre-Surgical / Post Anesthesia Care Unit<BR> <BR>Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range <BR> <BR> 0.9 FTE; Schedule: Days,varied hours, weekends and call responsibility; Location: Marquam Hill campus.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> The PeriAnesthesia RN works as a member of an interdisciplinary team providing direct and indirect professional nursing care to Pre-op and/or Phase I and II patients. The RN has expertise in the application of the nursing process within the Perioperative setting, has the ability to manage stressful/unusual situations in a positive manner, and embraces the OHSU Core Competencies (Accountability, Collaboration, Communication, Diversity, Integrity, Respect, Service Orientation, Teamwork) into his/her practice. The RN must practice within Oregon law and adhere to ASPAN standards and recommended practices This job also requires knowledge of the ANA Standards as it applies to the Professional Practice Role. Must Acknowledge and work towards Perianesthesia Specialty certification (CPAN) through ASPAN (The American Society of Perianesthesia Nurses).<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Required: Current unencumbered Oregon RN license and BLS certification issued by American Heart Association. ACLS certification (or within six (6) months of hire). Minimum of one (1) year of current Pre/Post/PACU nursing experience or two (2) years current critical care nursing experience (current within the last 6 months). Must be proficient at starting intravenous lines and patient interviewing and assessment. Must have proficient communication and listening skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team, and the flexibility to delegate, prioritize, and adapt in stressful situations. Ability to multi-task and work as a team member in an interdisciplinary setting. Demonstrate fluency in oral and written English and electronic media. Computer and word processing skills. Preferred: BSN, CPAN, NRP, PALS certification, recent PACU or Critical Care experience. Two (2) - five (5) years experience working in a level one trauma center. CPAN.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> Orientation:2 weeks. Position requires prioritization of multiple projects, activities, and assignments. May be exposed to excessive auditory and visual stimulaiton. May be exposed to body fluids, tissue, and infectious processes. Subject to computer work for several hours, as needed. Able to utilize all patient care equipment with work area.May be exposed to excessive auditory and visual stimulation.
