Salary range: $38,500 - $57,750. Location: Marquam Hill campus.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> The Professional Practice Leader (PPL) will be responsible for upholding excellence in the provision of nursing care through implementation of the professional Practice Model and evidence-based standards of care. The Professional Practice Leader possesses broad nursing knowledge and clinical expertise in the specialty area of surgery within the acute care hospital and ambulatory areas. The PPL functions as a professional practice resource, conducts and facilitates patient care consultation in conjunction with direct care nurses, and provides resources to evaluate the impact of appropriate practice on patient outcomes related to surgical services cross the Perioperative Division.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Current unencumbered Oregon Nursing License; Requires BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross; BSN required. External candidates must possess a graduate degree, preferably CNS or MSN. Internal applicants must be actively enrolled in a graduate program to be considered. 3-5 years of current clinical experience. Strong communication skills, teamwork (demonstrated ability to build team and integrate existing teams). Current clinical certification in area of specialty (obtained within one year of hire). Preferred: CNS, MSN. Charge nurse and/or preceptor or educator experience.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> Requires prioritization of multiple projects, activities, and assignments. Frequent interruptions in an evironment of frequent change and fluctuations. May be exposed to excessive auditory and visual stimulation. May be required to attend out of town conferences according to hospital travel and reimbursement policicies. May be exposed to body fluids, tissue, possible radiation exposure, and infectious processes. Subject to computer work for several hours, as needed. Able to utilize all patient care equipment and office equipment within work area. Standing: On concrete, vinyl, or carpeting up to 4 hours per day and intermittently. Sitting: Chair or stool continuous up to 8 hours per day and intermittently. Changing Position: Intermittently, as needed. Walking: Intermittently up to 4 hours per day on concrete, vinyl, and carpeting. Carrying: Up to 50 pounds (supplies, equipment, books, papers, etc) for intermittent periods and distances. Lifting: Up to 50 pounds (patients, equipment, supplies, books, etc) Intermittent throughout the day. Pushing/Pulling: Up to 100 pounds, intermittent, throughout the day. Bending: From the waist and knees, frequently throughout the day.
