<td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Relief Anesthesia Technician<BR> <BR>Department Perioperative Services/Anesthesia<BR> <BR>Location OHS 6A4<BR> <BR>Work Unit Description <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range <BR> <BR> This is a Relief posiiton; Schedule is Variable; Salary Range: $16.68 - $22.61/hour; Location: Marquam Hill.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> The department consists of 42 operating suites in four separate locations, as well as 8 outside OR Anesthesia delivery locations, 3 pre-operative areas, and 3 post-operative areas. These areas support Surgical Specialties and a Level One trauma program with a caseload > 70 cases daily. The department provides both inpatient and outpatient services. The Anesthesia Technician provides assistance to anesthesiologists by maintaining and stocking anesthesia instruments and supplies for the operating rooms, assembling and setting up anesthesia equipment, performs complex and moderately complex laboratory tests,and performs common and complex anesthesia procedures to ensure the best possible patient care is attained. Functions in all areas of OHSU where anesthesia could be administered in both inpatient and outpatient services.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Required: National Certification as an Anesthesia Technician, OR/AND Associates degree or higher in an Accredited Institution of Higher Education with the ability to become certified within 2 years of employment. Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association. Bachelor's degree preferred.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> Must be able to work under the following conditions: Surgical setting requiring a strict dress code and adherence to infection control policies; high degree of standing and walking; above average stress level due to critically injured or ill patients; lifting and moving of equipment and supplies; function and participate in a learning environment; work beyond regular scheduled hours, as needed; take call as assigned by Manager.
