               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Research Assistant 1 / Research Study Coordinator<BR> <BR>Department Oregon Clinical and Translational Institute (OCTRI)<BR> <BR>Location CHH 15000<BR> <BR>Work Unit Description <BR> <BR> The Oregon Clinical and Translational Research Institute (OCTRI) is a large and complex NIH-funded program that creates an "academic home" for clinical and translational research; expands and builds upon current education curriculum to engage, train, and nuture new inter-disciplinary investigators; and creates a coordinated infrastructure of core research tools and services.<BR> <BR>Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range <BR> <BR> <BR>* FTE: 1.0<BR>* Salary range: $13.05-15.95 per hour<BR>* Location: OHSU Marquam Hill, Portland OR<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> <BR>The Research Assistant I performs activities for multiple ongoing OCTRI research studies, supporting Study Coordinators with the day-to-day functions and activities of research protocols. This activity is conducted at all OCTRI facilities: Outpatient facilities located at the Mark O. Hatfield Research Center (HRC), the Inpatient facilities located at the Multnomah Pavilion (MPV) and Doernbecher Children??s Hospital (DCH). Additional research sites may be added as appropriate for individual protocols, including other inpatient and outpatient clinical facilities on the OHSU campus and other locations.<BR>The Research Assistant I is responsible for the support of OCTRI Study Coordinator Unit, ensuring efficient workflow for each study. The position requires an aptitude and orientation for clinical research activities, as well as a willingness to contribute to all phases of research support. This person will perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university??s missions and goals of teaching, research, high quality health care, and community service. The Research Assistant maintains effective relationships with nursing and other OCTRI staff, supporting an environment of cooperation, teamwork, and motivation.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> <BR>Required:<BR>* Bachelor's Degree or allied health professional<BR>* An equivalent prior experience<BR>* 0-1 years of experience required<BR>* Demonstrated mature and effective interpersonal communications skills including tact, diplomacy and flexibility with appropriate demeanor to maintain good working relationships<BR>* Discretionary judgment necessary to handle confidential matters<BR>* Strong demonstrated organization skills, with the ability to understand overall program objectives and maintain attention to detail<BR>* Organizational skills and ability to accurately report/input data<BR>* Ability to interface with University staff and managers outside the department, as well as community, Kaiser, and NIH personnel.<BR>* Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; ability to utilize database systems to record patient demographics<BR>* The ability to speak on a one-on-one or group basis to obtain and clearly convey information<BR>* Ability to manage and perform multiple tasks under conditions of fluctuating workloads                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   </font></td>
