Location: Center for Health & Healing, South Waterfront. Resource Nurse positions are required to work at least 352 hours each fiscal year and at least 24 hours per month. Any shift worked at the request of the manager shall count toward meeting the minimum hourly obligation for the month or the year. Shifts worked at the request of the manager are defined as unfilled shifts to which the resource nurse is assigned prior to the posting of the schedule or shift worked at the manager?s request during the posted work cycle. The Resource RN must also work a major holiday each fiscal year provided work is available and the resource nurse is needed.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> A Registered Nurse working here in the Center for Women?s Health is a member of a multi-disciplinary team and has the primary responsibility for and provides direct and indirect professional nursing care for patients. This includes representing the practice both in person and on the telephone, other OHSU departments, and non OHSU facilities. The Registered Nurse assesses patient and family needs, develops a plan of care, implements and evaluates the care delivered. The Registered Nurse is expected to practice in accordance with professional standards, core values, and with a commitment to service excellence. The Resource Nurse in the CWH may work in the following Divisions located with the CWH: Perinatology, Infertility, Urogynecology, Internal Medicine, OBGYN Faculty and Residents, Nurse Midwives, and Family Planning, as well as assisting in Procedures that may include Conscious Sedation, Blood Transfusions, and IV Hydration.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Required: Current, unencumbered Oregon Nursing license. BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross & ACLS Certification. Two (2) years experience in outpatient clinic. One (1) year phone triage experience. One (1) year phlebotomy experience. The ability to maintain a smooth operation of the entire practice, using problem solving and decision-making combined with sound clinical judgments. Assists NP/MD with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and treatments as needed in the clinic. Ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations. Understands the procedures for medical emergencies, as well as other disaster situations. Excellent communication skills. Excellent Organization skills. Prefer: BSN. One (1) year conscious sedation experience. One (1) year experience Family Medicine.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> Orientation: 8 weeks. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
