Resource Nurse positions are required to work at least 352 hours each fiscal year and at least 24 hours per month. Any shift worked at the request of the manager shall count toward meeting the minimum hourly obligation for the month or the year. Shifts worked at the request of the manager are defined as unfilled shifts to which the resource nurse is assigned prior to the posting of the schedule or shift worked at the manager?s request during the posted work cycle. The Resource RN must also work a major holiday each fiscal year provided work is available and the resource nurse is needed.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> The Perioperative RN works as a member of an interdisciplinary team providing direct and indirect professional nursing care in the Circulating or Scrub roles. The RN has expertise in the application of the nursing process within the Perioperative setting, has the ability to manage stressful/unusual situations in a positive manner, and embraces the OHSU Core Competencies (Accountability, Collaboration, Communication, Diversity, Integrity, Respect, Service Orientation, Teamwork) into his/her practice. The RN must practice within Oregon law and adhere to AORN standards and recommended practices.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> REQUIRED: Current unencumbered Oregon Nursing License; Requires BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Minimum 1 year current inpatient perioperative surgical nursing experience as an RN. Must be able to circulate within a variety of surgical specialties. Must have excellent communication and listening skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team, and the flexibility to delegate, priortize, and adapt in stressful situations. Ability to multi-task and prioritize work flow. Ability to work as a team member in a interdisciplinary setting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and electronic media. Must possess strong computer and word processing skills. Prefer: BSN. Two (2) - five (5) years experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center. CNOR.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> Orientation: 2 - 6 weeks depending on experience. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, walk, stand, stoop, bend, push, pull, reach, climb stairs, sit at computer, intermittently throughout work shift.
