Resource Nurse positions are required to work at least 352 hours each fiscal year and at least 24 hours per month. Any shift worked at the request of the manager shall count toward meeting the minimum hourly obligation for the month or the year. Shifts worked at the request of the manager are defined as unfilled shifts to which the resource nurse is assigned prior to the posting of the schedule or shift worked at the manager?s request during the posted work cycle. The Resource RN must also work a major holiday each fiscal year provided work is available and the resource nurse is needed.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> The Registered Nurse is responsible for total patient care to both pre-op and post-anesthesia patients. Patient population is diverse with medical and surgical patients with multiple illnesses that require surgery or diagnostic testing. The RN works as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and has the primary responsibility for and provides direct and indirect professional nursing care for patients. The RN assesses patient and family needs, develops a plan of care, implements and evaluates the care delivered. The RN is expected to practice in accordance with professional standards, core values and with a commitment to service excellence.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Required: Current, unencumbered Oregon RN license; Requires BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross; ACLS certification. Minimum of two (2) years recent Pre-op/PACU nursing experience; or Minimum of two (2) years recent Critical Care nursing experience required. Must be proficient at starting intravenous lines and patient interviewing and assessment. Must have excellent communication, teamwork, customer service skills and flexibility to delegate, prioritize and adapt in stressful situations. Ability to multi-task and work as a team member in an interdisciplinary setting. Demonstrate fluency in oral and written English and electronic media. Computer and word processing skills required. Prefer: BSN, 2-5 years experience working in a level one trauma center. CPAN.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> Orientation: 6 weeks, variable depending on previous experience. May be exposed to excessive auditory and visual stimulation. Must be able to carry or lift up to 50 pounds and be able to stand and walk intermittently throughout shift.
