Variable Shifts as needed and may include some on-call responsibility. RESOURCE NURSE positions are required to work at least 352 hours each fiscal year and at least 24 hours per month. Any shift worked at the request of the manager shall count toward meeting the minimum hourly obligation for the month or the year. Shifts worked at the request of the manager are defined as unfilled shifts to which the resource nurse is assigned prior to the posting of the schedule or shift worked at the manager?s request during the posted work cycle. The Resource RN must also work a major holiday each fiscal year provided work is available and the resource nurse is needed.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> This position plays a vital role for assuming primary responsibility for and provides direct and indirect professional nursing care to patients in the Ambulatory Recovery, Pre-operation and Post-operation areas of Oregon Health and Science University, Center for Health and Healing (CHH). The CHH Perioperative Services will use a primary practice model of care. Primary practice, phase I and II recovery. The Registered Nurse (RN) assesses patient's needs, develops the plan of care, implements and evaluates nursing care, provides education and consultation of staff, students, patients and the community.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Required: Current, unencumbered Oregon Nursing License. Current ACLS; Requires BLS certification issued by American Heart Association; Minimum of two (2) years recent experience as RN in a critical care setting is required (ER,ICU,CCU or PACU). Verifiable by reference: dependable work history, excellent customer service, time management and communication skills and teamwork ability. Fluency in oral and written English. Prefer: BSN. Current RN experience in an ambulatory procedure Pre-op and Phase I and II recovery. CPAN, CAPA.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, walk, push and pull up to 100 lbs, lift and carry up to 50 lbs, sit at computer intermittently throughout workshift.
