<td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Resource Nurse<BR> <BR>Department Pediatric Intensive Care Unit<BR> <BR>Location DCH 8120<BR> <BR>Work Unit Description <BR> <BR> Pediatric Intensive Care Unit<BR> <BR>Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range <BR> <BR> .001 FTE / Resource: variable hours and shifts; variable days of the week. Resource Nurse positions are required to work at least 352 hours each fiscal year and at least 24 hours per month. Any shift worked at the request of the manager shall count toward meeting the minimum hourly obligation for the month or the year. Shifts worked at the request of the manager are defined as unfilled shifts to which the resource nurse is assigned prior to the posting of the schedule or shift worked at the manager?s request during the posted work cycle. The Resource RN must also work a major holiday each fiscal year provided work is available and the resource nurse is needed.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> The Resource Nurse in the PICU will provide direct patient care to critically ill children and will work as a member of an interdisciplinary team providing direct and indirect professional nursing care for pediatric patients within Doernbecher Children's Hospital. This requires knowledge of growth and development along the pediatric age continuum as well as a variety to illnesses and injuries that can critically effect the pediatric population. The RN must be able to function in a multidisciplinary, intense environment. The RN is expected to practice in accordance with professional standards, core values and a commitment to service excellence.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Required: Current, unencumbered Oregon Nursing License; Requires BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Minimum one (1) year PICU experience as an RN. PALS required within 6 (six) months of hire. Verifiable by reference: dependable work history, excellent teamwork, customer service, organizational and time management skills. Fluency in oral and written English. Preferred: BSN, certification in pediatric nursing specialty.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> Orientation: 2-6 weeks as needed. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach, push, pull, climb stairs, sit at computer, intermittently throughout work shift.
