The schedule for this position varies. The Resource Nurse will work at least 352 hours each fiscal year and at least 24 hours per four-week work schedule, provided work is available and the resource nurse is needed.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> 9K Orthopedics provides care to adolescent through geriatric patients ranging from 16-100+ who, have a variety of diagnoses, which require surgical interventions and recovery for Orthopedic conditions. This population may include, but is not limited to: joint replacement surgeries and revisions, orthopedic tumor surgeries, spine surgeries, fracture repairs, and other types of orthopedic care. 9KPV also provides care for a variety of surgical observation patients who require monitoring after day surgery procedures for pain control, postop nausea and vomiting, surgical site monitoring or other indicationsThe Registered Nurse, working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, has the primary responsibility for and provides direct and indirect professional nursing care for patients. The Registered Nurse assesses patient and family needs, develops a plan of care, implements and evaluates the care delivered. The Registered Nurse is expected to practice in accordance with professional standards, core values, and with a commitment to service excellence.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> REQUIRED: Current and unencumbered State of Oregon RN license, graduation from national accredited School of Nursing. One (1) to two (2) years of recent nursing experience. BLS certification issued by American Heart Association. Fluency in oral and written English. PREFERRED: BSN and recent orthopedic nursing experience.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> Constant exposure to usual hospital environmental conditions. Exposure to cleaning chemicals. Possible exposure to body substances. Frequent assignments with tight time frames. Frequent assignment changes from shift to shift, day to day. Occasional exposure to angry individuals. Ability to repetitively lift, bend, stoop, stand and walk throughout the shift.
