<td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Veterans encouraged to apply.<BR><BR>The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry is seeking a part-time Science Educator. This position primarily implements interpretive programming for the visiting public, including schools, families, children, and adults. The educator will provide both structured interpretive programs and casual interpretative experiences for these audiences. The educator will be assigned primary, secondary and tertiary educational area selected from existing exhibit halls and/or labs by the Director of Museum Education.<BR><BR>The ideal candidate must have, but not limited to, the ability to present science process and content in an engaging way with a diverse population of learners, ability to handle multiple projects and tasks at once, and visual, perceptual, cognitive and judgment ability in order to recognize and respond appropriately to safety and security issue. Candidate must also have a Bachelor’s Degree in science, education, or communications, with college course work in science or equivalent combination of education and experience, working knowledge of Science and Engineering process skills, minimum 2 years delivering educational programming, minimum of one year experience teaching in an informal setting (museum, zoo, nature preserve), and pass pre-employment and/or pre-duty checks, such as criminal background check and reference checks.
