Dow AgroSciences is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company and had annual global sales of $5.7 billion in 2011.<BR><BR>Dow AgroSciences (DAS) is hiring a software developer to build and/or extend software to support scientific data collection, analysis, and decision making. The developer will support research and workflows in a variety of settings, including the laboratory, greenhouse and field and be able to contribute in all phases of software development. The position is located in Portland, Oregon.<BR><BR>Duties and Responsibilities<BR><BR>The software developer will be focused on design, development, and implementation of applications and mobile solutions that support scientific research at DAS. The developer will work on a team of developers, analysts, and support staff practicing iterative software development methods. The successful candidate will have experience in client application development and server side functionality. The main responsibilities for this position will be on application development, collaborating with other developers, and establishing partnerships with scientists and project leaders. The successful candidate will enjoy interacting closely with research scientists and have the following qualifications, skills and experience.<BR><BR>* <BR>Minimum BS degree in Computer Science or a Physical Science (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics) with a work history demonstrating 3 years of client software design and development experience<BR>* <BR>Excellent object-oriented analysis and programming skills in Java or C# and use of agile-style development methodologies<BR>* <BR>Advanced knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, JSON, and Ajax<BR>* <BR>Strong knowledge of MVC and object-oriented design patterns, including experience working with MVC JavaScript frameworks.<BR>* <BR>Experience with complex relational Oracle or SQL Server database systems, including experience writing stored procedures<BR>* <BR>Experience analyzing user requirements<BR>* <BR>Experience with continuous integration, build, and deployment methods<BR>* <BR>Exceptional communication and collaboration skills<BR>* <BR>Motivated self-starter and learner who is interested in science </font></td>
