To really innovate and survive for the long-term, companies will need to engage beyond their borders, down their supply chains and support the wider system to change.<BR><BR>The Sustainable Product Research & Discovery team will deliver a triple bottom line to Nike, Inc. by identifying, validating, and then integrating sustainability innovations that can be taken to scale into Nike products.  The team&#39;s ultimate aim is to achieve 100% &quot;closed loop&quot; products by managing a diverse innovation portfolio consisting of sustainable materials (low impact feedstock, sustainable polymers, and recyclable materials) and sustainable manufacturing (zero and post consumer waste materials and processes).<BR><BR>ROLE DESCRIPTION<BR>As a Senior Materials Technology Manager who is experienced in the identification, evaluation and manufacture of innovative, advanced materials, you will be responsible for managing programs and projects leading to the identification and assessment of renewably derived chemicals, intermediates, and finished materials which, when taken to scale, can be used successfully in consumer goods. Ideally, you have 10  years of experience in research and development of polymers for fiber production from lab to scaled commercial production.<BR><BR>You will use your knowledge of emerging methods of renewable chemical creation to connect opportunities into systems and compare these systems with your understanding of the efficiency and economics of the current petrochemical industry. You will lead efforts to 1) identify potential routes to the desired materials, 2) conduct technical and economic feasibility assessments of these research and development opportunities, and 3) assemble teams internally, and establish external partnerships with leading entities and organizations active in these areas (such as start-ups, consortia, academia and suppliers). You will assess and estimate the cost structures of different phases of work from research and development to capital deployment to help build our financial and investment plans.<BR><BR>Your approach to materials creation will ideally take into account the desired end goal being the recapture and recycle those materials.
