Project Engineers work directly with the Sales organization to discover client requirements, develop solution strategies, define technical architecture, and support the project planning and implementation phase for the contracted solution<BR><BR>Essential Duties and Responsibilities<BR><BR>- Collaborate with the Sales organization to qualify customer opportunities as related to the Savvis/CenturyLink hosting and Cloud Computing product offerings and related Savvis/CenturyLink services<BR>- As appropriate to the specific opportunity, work with Sales to present overall Savvis/CenturyLink capabilities to prospects toward the development of opportunities. Project Engineers are knowledgeable regarding local and wide area networking, internet protocols, outsource management, computing platforms, and applications; and at a minimum, conversant in consulting services, systems integration and outsourcing<BR>- Review and analyze all available information pertaining to the prospect - including formal RFP/RFI/RFQ documents, customer provided diagrams and engineering documents, and publicly available and business and website materials. Conduct preliminary internal investigation of services and offerings that relate to the customer?s requirements<BR>- Develop questions and pursue responses based upon RFP and/or other materials to extract and document the complete customer technical and support requirements using a consultative approach<BR>- Co-develop a strategy with Sales. Architect a custom solution for the customer that addresses the business needs, technical requirements and service expectations. Deliverables include diagrams and specifications for the network, server, space, cabling and power layouts; technical narratives that define and help sell the solution in the competitive marketplace and active support for resolution of legal and pricing issues.<BR>- Investigate, negotiate and obtain commitments from engineering, operations, professional services, product management, executive management, legal and others to identify solutions and services that satisfy specific client requirements<BR>- Develop a high-level implementation plan and set appropriate expectations with the customer.
