We provide career opportunities as unique as you are.<BR>Responsibilities:<BR><BR>Working under the direction of a Senior Substation Design Engineer and Engineering Manager a Staff Substation Design Engineer is responsible for providing engineering services and the preparation of the detailed design package associated with the construction of high-voltage utility substations. The successful applicant will have experience in substation physical design, including switch and bus, medium and high-voltage circuit breaker, and power transformers. A Staff Substation Design Engineer will develop bills of material<BR>based upon a single line diagram and layout drawing, performing the assigned tasks within a reasonable time frame and budget. A Staff Substation Design Engineer will be able to demonstrate a reasonable knowledge of industry design standards and applicable codes for the design of high-voltage facilities, including IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, NESC, IEC standards. The successful applicant will also be a resourceful team player, being able to take direction from senior staff members, able to avoid conflicts, while maintaining a commitment to quality.<BR>Qualifications:<BR><BR>* Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, with emphasis in power<BR>* Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of substations<BR>* Knowledge of protection and control schemes<BR>* Experience working with design software AutoCAD, Microstation<BR>* Strong written and communication skills<BR>ASSETS but not required:<BR>* Fundamental Engineer (FE) or Professional Engineer (PE) designation in a US jurisdiction<BR>* Exposure to Substation Protection and Control design<BR>* Periodic onsite construction support experience<BR>* Project management exposure<BR>* Experience with project scheduling software<BR>* Transmission Conductor selection and optimization<BR>* Fiber optic cable design<BR>* Experience with environmental agencies and/or regulatory authorities                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              </font></td>
