The salary range for this position $13.42 - $17.88/hour. This position is located on Marquam Hill.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> The Sterile Processing Technician II Trainee performs routine maintenance and preparation of instruments, supplies and equipment requiring decontamination and sterilization in a medical facility, as well as all duties performed by the Sterile Processing Technician I. The Sterile Processing Technician II Trainee is monitored closely by other Sterile Processing Technician II's, III's, Team Leaders, Supervisors and Manager.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Required: High school diploma. Short-term training?Coursework in Sterile Processing (often through a community college or an online course such as the one offered by Purdue University) to achieve a Certificate of Completion in SterileProcessing. On-the-job training directly through a hospital program or through the PCC Health Occupations Training program. Clinicals may run 12 weeks to one (1) year. Preferred: Mt. Hood Community College Sterile Processing class. One (1) to two (2) years experience as a Sterile Processing Technician I. National Certification for Sterile Processing Technicians is required within 1 year of employment as a Tech II. A new employee may elect to take the certification prior to completion of the 6 month probationary period. The employee may substitute the CRCST from IAHCSMM certification in lieu of the CBSPD certification. If there is a no pass of the CBSPD the first time, the employee has 90 days to schedule and pass the CRCST certification from the IAHCSMM or to re-take the CBSPD certification. If unable to pass after 90 days the employee is considered on unauthorized administrative leave and considered to be voluntarily resigned from position. CBSPD or IAHCSMM certifications.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> Rotate weekends, work various shifts, work with detergents, enzymes, germiside, and other related chemicals. Communicate clearly and appropriately. Ability to operate computers and job related equipment. Good Interpersonal and communications skills. Stand for long periods of time. Push/Pull/Lift 50+ lbs.
