The salary Range for this position is $31.71 - $42.83/hour. This position is located at Marquam Hill.<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> The function of the Ultrasonographer position within the Department of Diagnostic Imaging is to perform all phases of diagnostic medical sonography. These procedures include but are not necessarily limited to abdominal, OB/GYN, Breast, neurologic, small parts, noninvasive vascular and pediatric ultrasound procedures. The ultrasonographer promotes OHSU?s mission statement by delivering high quality, cost effective, family-oriented service. This position helps to create a collaborative environment by integrating education, research and clinical leadership. Sonographers work with infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> Completion of Approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and ARDMS registered in OB/GYN and abdomen or eligible. Alternatively, the candidate must satisfy the ARDMS acceptable pathway to obtain the RDMS credentials. Must have current BLS Card issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Ability to perform all phases of general diagnostic sonography. Will consider new student graduates. Must have good judgment, decision making and communication skills. Proficient in the use of various ultrasound units. Must be able to demonstrate specific normal anatomy and abnormal pathology. Have a working knowledge of ultrasound physics and principles. Must have current CPR Card. Preferred: Two (2) years in a large hospital a plus. Vascular experience a plus. RVT encouraged.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> This position works in a busy environment with frequent interruptions, multiple demands and continuous interaction with patients and other medical professionals. It requires being exposed to chemical solutions, and human tissue/fluids. Ability to speak clearly, demonstrate patience and understanding of patients' needs. Must be able to deal with competing needs and priorities of patients and internal customers. Use of personal computers, copiers, phones, and fax machine.
