               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Veterinary Pathologist<BR> <BR>Department Oregon National Primate Research Center<BR> <BR>Location ONPRC<BR> <BR>Work Unit Description <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range <BR> <BR> 1.0 FTE; Salary commensurate with experience<BR> <BR>Functions/Duties of Position <BR> <BR> <BR>The veterinary pathologist will be responsible for provision of disease diagnosis and surveillance for the Center?s animal resource through diagnostic necropsies, biopsies, and maintenance of databases and provision of pathology support for research projects through necropsies, tissue distribution, data collection, participation in study design and interpretation of pathology. The unit performs approximately 800 post mortem examinations on nonhuman primates annually.<BR>Additional responsibilities include acting as a resource of nonhuman primate (NHP) pathology through the addition to databases of biological data and images, publication and participation in teaching and presentation at local and national settings, characterization of spontaneous NHP diseases potentially useful as models for human diseases, and participation in the Tissue Distribution Program to serve both OHSU and national investigators.<BR> <BR>Job Requirements <BR> <BR> <BR>Required:<BR>D.V.M./V.M.D. degree from a veterinary school accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association, ACVP or ECVP board eligibility, three years diagnostic pathology experience (may be part of post-DVM training).<BR>Preferred:<BR>ACVP or ECVP board certification, one year experience with nonhuman primate pathology, six months clinical veterinary experience.<BR> <BR>Additional Details <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>How To Apply <BR> <BR> Apply here online.
