This certification program is a series of learning modules and is available on-line through the URS Learning Management System at no financial cost to the employee.<BR>Job Description: The successful candidate will be the Water and Environment Group Department Manager. The Candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day planning, organizing, controlling and reporting for the department. Candidate shall have a combination of technical, administrative and business development, and client relationship skills. The candidate shall have well-rounded experience and have a foundation in one or more of sciences. The candidate shall have high-level NEPA/CEQA experience, and one who appreciates the nuances in each technical field and can develop successful strategy and tactics. The Candidate will manage staff comprised of Team Leads, Project Managers, technical specialists and junior level scientists in the areas of cultural resources, ecology, wetlands, visual resources, environmental planning and water resources.<BR><BR>The Candidate will be responsible for:<BR>? Selecting and hiring staff.<BR>? Closely monitoring and managing the department?s weekly sold time and direct labor to ensure goals are met.<BR>? Managing Team Leaders and helping them adjust workloads and schedules to balance project requirements with available resources.<BR>? Conducting departmental meetings and evaluating work performance of staff.<BR>? Developing operating and growth plans, including staffing.<BR>? Monitoring performance of staff and providing mentoring and constructive feedback.<BR>? Providing staff evaluations and development plans.<BR>? Reviewing and submitting for approval department expenditures, including conference and professional activity approval requests.<BR>? Conducting annual performance reviews.<BR>? Assisting with the annual budget planning process, including development and projections of team?s metrics and requirements for growth.<BR>?
