Enjoy the smaller town life: country space, freedom from traffic, easy access to recreational activities in nearby mountains, rivers, and forests, as well as great schools and universities.Mechanical Engineer - Building SystemsResponsibilities: * Creates, reviews and checks mechanical plans and specifications for new construction. additions and remodeling of company facilities to comply with local, state and federal standards. * Prepares cost estimates for capital planning and for repair projects where material and equipment are procured by requisition. * Checks and approves or rejects all contractor?s submittals and/or vouchers for payment against progress of engineering projects. * Coordinates engineering activities with other departments. * Provides mechanical engineering services and advice to other professional engineering or architectural personnel within the work unit; designs or reviews the design of other professional mechanical engineers for HVAC systems, refrigeration, plumbing, power houses and other mechanical appurtenances. * Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew. * May direct other professional engineers and draftsmen. * Follow and improve engineering area processes. * Performs other work as required.Qualifications: * PE license in the branch of mechanical engineering in the State of Washington (WA & ID) or ability to ability to license within 6 months * B.S. and/or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering * Strong writing, documentation and speaking skills * Problem solving skills * Strong team leadership/project management experience * Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities * Ability to work cooperatively in team environment * Background check results satisfactory to SEL * Ability to adhere to SEL''s tobacco free workplace policy * Negative drug test result(s)Preferred Qualifications: * 5-10 years design experience * 1-5 years commissioning experience * Mechanical Commissioning CertificateTo Apply For This Position:We ask all candidates to submit their resume through our website at www.selinc.com/applynow.
