               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Power Engineer ( Multiple Openings)<BR><BR>The Power Engineer at SCHWEITZER ENGINEERING LABORATORIES, INC. (SEL) is responsible for developing and maintaining strong working knowledge and technical expertise in SEL's electrical power system equipment types and related protection, monitoring, and control issues.  The incumbent will apply the principles of electrical engineering in (1) undertaking technical and market analysis in connection with the evaluation of proposed products or enhancements; (2) gathering and maintaining data on competing products in assigned product areas; (3) drafting and maintaining application literature, instruction manuals, and data sheets as appropriate; (4) developing and analyzing product specifications and functional tests; (5) undertaking improvements of SEL research and development initiatives; and (6) mentoring SEL Associate Engineers and Technicians.  In carrying out the required job duties, the incumbent will deploy his or her knowledge of electric power engineering and: (1) electric power system protection practices, protection applications, and associated protocols; (2) protective relay engineering theory, operation, and application at an electric utility, industrial plant or engineering firm; (3) power system modeling using EMTP (ElectroMagnetic Transients Program); and (4) three-phase electric power theory, design, and operation including current calculations.<BR> <BR>These full-time positions will be based out of SEL's headquarters in Pullman, Washington located at 2350 NE Hopkins Court, Pullman, Washington 99163.  However, because SEL has numerous customers nationwide, some travel is required, as the incumbent will occasionally and on a short-term basis be deployed to various customer sites.  Candidates must therefore be willing to travel to various unanticipated locations throughout the United States on an ongoing basis.<BR><BR>Candidates must possess, at minimum, a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related.  All candidates must also possess knowledge, as evidenced by passing a basic technical proficiency test, of electric power engineering and at least three of the four following subject matter areas: (1) electric power system protection practices, protection applications, and associated protocols; (2) protective relay engineering theory, operation, and application at an electric utility, industrial plant or engineering firm; (3) power system modeling using EMTP (ElectroMagnetic Transients Program); and (4) three-phase electric power theory, design, and operation including current calculations.  Note: All candidates for all engineering positions at SEL must pass a basic technical proficiency test related to the subject job.  Candidates must also be willing to comply with SEL's Drug-Free and Tobacco-Free policies.  <BR><BR>Please apply by submitting a resume to careers@selinc.com.</font></td>
