Enjoy the smaller town life: country space, freedom from traffic, easy access to recreational activities in nearby mountains, rivers, and forests, as well as great schools and universities.Product Engineer - Power Emphasis (PC Software)Responsibilities:<BR>* Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of specific product line(s), product applications, competition, and markets. Analyze competitor products and prepare technical product comparison reports.<BR>* Develop and maintain a high level of technical expertise in electric power system protection and a working level of technical expertise in electric power system automation.<BR>* Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of SEL equipment and solutions to electric power system protection and automation.<BR>* Perform event report analysis, product test schemes, protection scheme design and relay coordination services as part of a project team.<BR>* Conduct life cycle planning for product line(s) and specific products, including enhancements and obsolescence, with minimal supervision. Manage parts, upgrades, conversions, and accessories for respective products.<BR>* Participate in specifying product requirements, working closely with Product Managers to ensure that product features and functionality meet the customer/market needs.<BR>* Work with Product Engineering and Marketing to prioritize development activities to meet customer needs while accomplishing objectives.<BR>* Prepare product documentation including data sheets, flyers, release notes and service bulletins.<BR>* Participate in industry technical meetings and conferences. Prepare and present technical product presentations.<BR>* Follow and improve area processes.Qualifications:<BR>* B.S. in Electrical Engineering<BR>* Minimum 2 years working knowledge of electric power or industrial system integration and automation practices and philosophies<BR>* Minimum 2 years technical marketing experience<BR>* Excellent technical and marketing presentation and writing skills<BR>* Knowledge of product life cycle planning and market positioning<BR>* Willing to travel up to 25%<BR>* Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities<BR>* Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment<BR>* Background check results satisfactory to SEL<BR>* Negative drug test result(s)<BR>* Ability to adhere to SEL''s tobacco free workplace policyTo </font></td>
