If you are looking for an opportunity to develop and test generators, governors, exciters and loads on RTDS for various projects and enjoy mentoring in the development of associate engineers in this exciting aspect, then this position is for you!Project Engineer - Modeling EmphasisResponsibilities:<BR>* Develop and test models of generators, governors, exciters, and loads on a Real Time Digital Simulation (RTDS) system.<BR>* Create in-depth and detailed documents such as dynamic stability reports, generator performance testing, validation reports, voltage stability reports, closed loop control system performance reports, etc.<BR>* Work independently to come up with conclusions on power system operation<BR>* Complete assigned work within agreed upon schedule and budget to a high level of quality.<BR>* Assist and mentor junior engineers and technicians.<BR>* Follow and improve applicable processes.Qualifications:<BR>* B.S. in Engineering from an accredited college or university (Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls preferable)<BR>* Over eight years relevant experience with electrical power systems or industrial automation or control systems.<BR>* Excellent knowledge of dynamic modeling (and fundamental physics) of governors, exciters, motors and other related power system equipment.<BR>* Experience with one or more modeling software tools (PSSE, PSLF, RTDS, ETAP).<BR>* Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills<BR>* Willing to travel up to 20% both nationally and internationally<BR>* Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities<BR>* Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment<BR>* Background check results satisfactory to SEL<BR>* Ability to adhere to SEL''s tobacco free workplace policy<BR>* Negative drug test result(s)Preferred Qualifications:<BR>* Experience with electric power generation systems<BR>* Working knowledge of electric power systems and protective relay applicationsTo Apply For This Position:We ask all candidates to submit their resume through our website at www.selinc.com/applynow.
