(SEL) seeks a Senior Automation Engineer to provide technical assistance to SEL customers and team members on electrical power system projects. Enjoy the smaller town life: country space, freedom from traffic, easy access to recreational activities in nearby mountains, rivers, and forests, as well as great schools and universities.Senior Automation EngineerResponsibilities:<BR>* Maintain an expert level of technical expertise in electric power system protection or power system automation.<BR>* Maintain an expert level of knowledge of SEL equipment and solutions to automation.<BR>* Prepare and present successful proposals for SEL equipment, services and systems.<BR>* Act as a primary customer contact on technical matters.<BR>* Lead project teams to resolve customer concerns and foster customer satisfaction.<BR>* Complete assigned work within agreed upon schedule and budget at the highest level of quality.<BR>* Lead in training and assisting customers with the installation, commissioning and operation of protection and automation systems, both on-site and from SEL offices.<BR>* Assume Project Management role on assigned projects.<BR>* Follow and improve applicable processes.<BR>* Provide support for other SEL marketing, sales, application engineering and development activities.<BR>* Supervisory duties as assigned.Qualifications:<BR>* B.S. and/or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience<BR>* Minimum 15 years working knowledge of electrical power systems, protection practices and philosophies<BR>* Detailed knowledge of protective relay or automation applications<BR>* Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills<BR>* Willing to travel up to 30% both nationally and internationally<BR>* Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities<BR>* Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment<BR>* Background check results satisfactory to SEL<BR>* Negative drug test result(s)<BR>* Ability to adhere to SEL''s tobacco free workplace policyPreferred Qualifications:<BR>* Experience being a part of project teams<BR>* Electrical utility, consulting or system integrator experience<BR>* Extensive experience in power system modeling and stability studies<BR>* Registered as a Professional EngineerTo Apply For This Position:We ask all candidates to submit their resume through our website at www.selinc.com/applynow.
