This opportunity is a Director level and Leadership Team role within Operations Finance, a world class and global finance team that is part of the Sales, Marketing, and Services Division within Microsoft. The Operations Finance team is located in Redmond WA, Dublin Ireland, Singapore, Reno NV, Ft Lauderdale FL, and Puerto Rico. The role is located in Redmond WA.<BR>This role will lead two critical functions for Microsoft covering the company''s largest sales channels, including Volume Licensing, OEM, MBS, and Advertising and Online. The functional teams are Revenue Recognition (RevRec) and Governance and Compliance (G&C). The successful candidate will be managing directly a team of eight accomplished professionals and be accountable to set strategy, define infrastructure requirements and drive global consistency for Microsoft and the functional RevRec and G&C teams across the globe (dotted line team of fifteen based in Reno, Dublin and Singapore).<BR>Microsoft is moving aggressively to sell infrastructure, platforms, and software as services via the Cloud. These strategically important offerings are creating many opportunities and needs for these functions to create the roadmaps required to successfully and timely launch these services. Those needs include, but are not limited to, appropriately recognizing revenue for multi-element arrangements using fair-value calculations on large enterprise licensing agreements. An increasingly technical and growing SOX scope that requires efficient and effective control design coupled with a rigorous testing program across automated and manual environments. An additional, yet no less significant, need is helping to prepare the revenue cycle for IFRS convergence.<BR><BR>Responsibilities include:<BR><BR>People Leadership - leading and developing a team of eight technical experts in their field of software and services revenue recognition and financial and IT controls and compliance and risk management. Leading the broader community of Rev Rec and G&C professionals across the globe.<BR>Functional Leadership - manage the operating mechanism for the functions including; setting commitments, setting targets, managing and reporting top tier scorecard metrics, developing functional training and support, team rhythm of the business including sharing of best practices, consistent and quality execution and semi-annual summits.<BR>Strategy and Infrastructure roadmap - engage with Corporate and Business Group stakeholders to understand and influence product and service offerings that will allow the team to appropriately design controls and recognize revenue.
