Associate’s Degree in PTA Education<BR>? Hold current PTA Licensure<BR>? Successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant training program and certification by the State of Washington <BR>? 2 years clinical experience (preferred)<BR><BR>General Duties<BR><BR>Clean and organize work area and disinfect equipment after treatment. Observe patients during treatment to compile and evaluate data on patients' responses and progress, and report to physical therapist. Confer with physical therapy staff and others to discuss and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment. Record treatment given and equipment used. Perform clerical duties, such as taking inventory, ordering supplies, answering telephone, taking messages, and filling out forms.<BR><BR>Patient Care<BR><BR>Instruct, motivate, safeguard and assist patients practicing exercises and functional activities, under direction of medical staff. Secure patients into or onto therapy equipment. Transport patients to and from treatment areas, using wheelchairs or providing standing support. Assist patients to dress, undress, and put on and remove supportive devices, such as braces, splints, and slings. Measure patient's range-of-joint motion, body parts, and vital signs to determine effects of treatments or for patient evaluations. Train patients to use orthopedic braces, prostheses and supportive devices. Fit patients for orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices, adjusting fit as needed.<BR><BR>Position requires physical effort, periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending and/or stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting, pushing or pulling of objects (generally <50 lbs). There will be occasional discomforts dealing with unpleasant situations, exposure to dust, fumes, odors, gases, chemical substances, electrical currents and disruptive/aggressive patients and visitors. May have exposure to bodily fluids such as blood, body waste, and saliva through patient care, waste disposal cleanup and other routines.<BR><BR>FCPHD is a drug-free, smoke-free workplace.
