Candidates must have 2+yrs Oracle DBA experience, 1+yrs UNIX/Linix experience,<BR>2+yrs maintaining development and operational databases, experience in database backup and recovery, experience with Recovery Manager (RMAN), experience performing Oracle upgrades, ability to performs as a team player, effective communications skills, ability to demonstrate transparency in his/her work, ability to prioritize and multitask, but understands when to seek out help from managers or subject matter experts, the ability to be well organized, and clearly documents all technical designs and procedures<BR>Desired skills Candidates with 5+yrs Oracle DBA experience, 3+yrs UNIX/Linix experience (Redhat Linix preferred), 5+yrs maintaining development and operational databases, and Project Management Certification are preferred.<BR>Specific Job Description The successful candidate will serve as part of a Database Administration team that serves multiple government agencies in support of databases developed and maintained throughout the programs. Each team member is expected to be self-motivated and self-directed in performing assigned duties. Perform Oracle database administration duties. Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle infrastructure servers. Experience with Oracle database management products. Perform software and hardware upgrades in accordance with established policies and procedures and service level agreements. Monitor and tune the databases to achieve optimum level of performance. Ensures database data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware controls. Ensure date recoverability by implementing a schedule of system/database backups/images. Conducts routine audits for compliance with established standards, policies, procedures, and configuration guidelines. Position is contingent upon award of contract.<BR>Standard Job Description Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases. Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. Maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization.
