               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Security Officer<BR>Organization and Job ID<BR>Job ID:<BR><BR>301980<BR>Directorate:<BR><BR>Operational Systems<BR>Division:<BR><BR>Safeguards and Security Services <BR>Group: Operations Center<BR>Job Description<BR>The primary function of the Protective Force Security Officer (SO) is response to National Security Alarms and manning of the Labs Single Point-of-Contact for all PNNL emergencies, 375-2400 calls, and Off-Normal Event notifications.<BR>This position is the primary focal point for providing timely and appropriate support for safety and security related events for PNNL. The SO must interface with all levels of PNNL management and staff, other contractors, DOE, and other sponsors while maintaining a highly professional and positive demeanor. <BR>The SO develops and maintains working relationships with PNNL staff and management, which include: Operations Managers; Facility Managers; Building Managers; Off-Normal Event Coordinators; PNNL Communications and safety staff; DOE staff; visitors; and other Safeguards and Security (SAS) staff members. <BR>The SO is responsible for making notifications and coordinating events as requested. They are critical in ensuring the safety and security of PNNL staff, visitors and facilities by initiating emergency response and management notifications. Each emergency event requires the SO to take appropriate steps to mitigate the event through proper communication and response. The Lead SO and the Protective Force Program Manager will oversee the SOs actions.<BR>Principal Accountabilities:<BR>*Single point of contact for all PNNL emergencies and off normal events.<BR>*Initiate emergency responses, i.e., fire, ambulance and police.<BR>*Notify PNNL management and staff during emergencies, following applicable procedures.<BR>*Provide industrial alarm monitoring and access control for PNNL facilities, and respond to alarms as directed.<BR>*Provide safety and security checks of PNNL facilities. <BR>*Provide escorts for staff, as appropriate<BR>*Provide inclement weather advisory for PNNL staff and activate inclement weather procedures.<BR>*Operation and maintenance of: multiple pieces of equipment and their related databases; access control systems; fire alarms; industrial security alarms; paging system; switchboard; phone recorders; and programmatic alarms.<BR>*Provide absence coverage for other SOs (includes pre-scheduled absences such as vacations and training, as well as unscheduled absences such as illness).<BR>Minimum Requirements<BR>High school education with four or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required, or TIG/AA with 2/3 years relevant experience.
