Opportunities are available year-round, though length of appointments may vary according to the candidate''s current curriculum, research projects, and program funding. Research will be conducted in close collaboration and under the guidance PNNL scientists and engineers. <BR>The Computational and Statistical Analytics Division at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory focuses on advancing computational and statistical foundations to deliver algorithms, information and scientific data management, visualization and analytics, data intensive information systems, distributed data processing pipelines and environments, and secure computing infrastructure to enable next-generation heterogeneous computing for scientific discovery, situational awareness, decision support, and predictive modeling. <BR>Looking for a range of skills from basic computer programming to advanced analytics.<BR><BR>Main duties include software testing, manual testing and automated testing.<BR>The selected candidate will need to be available to begin this limited term position in November 2012.<BR>.<BR>Minimum Requirements<BR>This position is open to students who have completed their sophomore year and are either (1) enrolled in, but have not yet started, their junior<BR><BR>year or (2) currently enrolled as a junior and have not completed requirements to advance to their senior year.<BR><BR>Students must be matriculated as an undergraduate student at an accredited university and have a GPA of at least 2.5.<BR><BR>All staff at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory must be able to demonstrate the legal right to work in the United States.<BR>.<BR>Qualifications<BR>Applicants with experience in one or more of these areas, or closely related topics, are encouraged to apply: <BR>- cyber security <BR>- software architectures <BR>- software architectures for information processing and analysis <BR>- cognitive science <BR>- natural language processing <BR>- Human-Computer Interaction, interface development, or graphic design <BR>- Web 2.0 technologies <BR>- knowledge sciences <BR>- ontology development, induction, and reasoning <BR>- database structure and architectures <BR>- information synthesis <BR>- video and multimedia analysis <BR>- tools and methods for collaboration <BR>- agent based programming <BR>- generating data signatures for multimedia information <BR>- mathematical and statistical methods for information analysis and knowledge discovery<BR><BR><BR><BR><BR>- high performance or data-intensive computing <BR>- evaluation methods and user studies <BR>- health sciences<BR>The following skills would be helpful: <BR>Video processing software <BR>Statistical packages <BR>Java <BR>C++ <BR>PHP <BR>Adob                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         </font></td>
