               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">The Puget Sound Blood Center is seeking an Animal Research Technician to join our new Vivarium working with mice and rats.  This position will be responsible for carrying out animal husbandry duties including cage washing, facility maintenance, animal health monitoring, and the set up/maintenance of support equipment and systems.  The Technician will work under the general supervision of the Vivarium manager, in accordance with all state and federal animal welfare regulations and Vivarium methods/procedures. The position is full-time working Monday through Friday.  Candidates with proven expertise in troubleshooting mechanical equipment are highly preferred.  <BR><BR>Requirements for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent.  At least one year experience working in an animal research lab, veterinary clinic or other animal husbandry setting is beneficial.   Other requirements include a demonstrated ability to follow scientific protocols and procedures.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are key as is the ability to participate and excel in a team environment.  Basic knowledge MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook is required, database experience preferred.  <BR>Application deadline: October 30, 2012.</font></td>
