Internal relationships include working with Animal Technician, Attending Veterinarian, Lab Operations Specialist, Research Associates and Research Scientists locally and globally.<BR><BR>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<BR>? Basic animal husbandry<BR>? Daily animal health and welfare observations including housing, breeding, weaning<BR>? Daily Food and water checks<BR>? Changing animal cages as scheduled<BR>? Facility cleaning<BR>? Washing, sanitizing and sterilizing caging and supplies<BR>? Facility supply maintenance<BR>? Detailed record keeping<BR><BR>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:<BR>? Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.<BR><BR>KEY SUCCESS FACTORS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS<BR>? High School Diploma or equivalent<BR>? Minimum 1 year working with rodents in a laboratory animal facility (SPF-barrier is preferred).<BR>? AALAS certified as ALAT or ability to obtain within first year preferred<BR>? Ability to review comprehend and comply with all standard operation procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance standards pertaining to laboratory animals<BR>? An attention to detail, excellent communication skills and genuine care for animals<BR>? Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite<BR>? Must be able to work weekends and occasional holidays<BR><BR>OTHER:<BR>? Works within Novo Nordisk?s established policies and procedures and ensures alignment of their work to Novo Nordisk fundamentals.<BR>?
