The department currently employs 900 people who work at the award-winning University of Washington Medical Center (ranked among the top medical centers in the United States as rated by U.S. News & World Report 2011-2012), Harborview Medical Center (the region''s only Level I Trauma center, known for innovations and excellence in trauma care and its centers of emphasis: Trauma, Burn, Neurosciences, AIDS/STD CARER, and mentally- and medically- vulnerable populations.), and many other clinical and research facilities in the area. This position provides financial direction and analysis of the department business and divisions as well as oversight of the financial activities within the department. This position develops, designs, directs and manages the financial reporting & budgeting activities of the department.<BR><BR>The Associate Director of Finance serves as the senior level advisor to the Chair, Executive Vice Chair, Director of Finance and Administration and department leadership, requiring in-depth knowledge of University, School and closely affiliated institution policies and procedures. This position is responsible for key Laboratory Medicine activities such as budgeting, forecasting, reporting, identifying and implementing solutions to business issues, as well as financial modeling of future plans.<BR><BR>Responsibilities Include:<BR><BR>Budget, Financial Reporting and Analysis<BR><BR>* Develop financial reports for department and management reports for the Chair and the Director of Finance and Administration. Incorporate all revenue/expenditures into one report including state, grants and contracts. RCR, gift and endowments, UWP clinical income, UWMC and HMC clinical revenue and self-sustaining budgets ($100M annually).Strategic Financial planning<BR><BR>* Provide central direction and oversight to the development of various strategic financial plans for the department and key business units.
