The Amazon Vendor Management team delivers business intelligence to over hundreds of diverse community of internal customers from one of the world?s largest and most complex data sets. This team provides a fast paced environment where every day brings new challenges and new opportunities.<BR><BR>As a Data Engineer, you will be working on developing solutions that provide some of the unique challenges of space, size and speed. You will:<BR><BR><BR><BR>* Interface with finance and business users to determine the metrics needed to manage the Amazon Retail business. Provide data support to finance and business teams in Amazon retail.<BR>* Design, Implement and support Data Models, ETLs that provide structured and timely access to large datasets.<BR>* Build fault tolerant, self-healing, adaptive and highly accurate ETL platforms.<BR>* Tune query performance on queries running over billion of rows of data running in an Oracle RAC environment.<BR>* Provide support in migration of existing ETL framework to Elastic Map Reduce and Hive (Cloud) technology to improve scaling and performance.<BR>* Provide Data Engineering expertise to multiple teams across our organization.<BR>* Provide guidance and support for other engineers with industry best practices and direction.<BR>RetailSystemsJobs<BR>Basic Qualifications<BR>We are looking for Data Engineers who have a passion for data and a passion for supplying their clients with that data. You know and love working with analytic tools, can write excellent SQL and UNIX scripts, can partner with customers to answer key business questions, and you are an advocate for your customers. You are analytical and creative, and you don?t quit. You should also have the following skills or experiences:<BR><BR><BR><BR>* Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or related field<BR>* 5+ years developing end to end BI solutions: data modeling, ETL and reporting.<BR>* 5+ years experience in relational database concepts with a solid knowledge of star schema, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, OLAP, Linux.<BR>* Exposure to large databases, BI applications, performance tuning<BR>Preferred Qualifications<BR><BR>* Experience working on BI tools (OBIEE, Microstrategy, Brio etc.)<BR>* Experience partnering with business owners directly to understand their requirements and provide data which can help them observe patterns and spot anomalies.<BR>* Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills<BR>* Experience with scripting langua </font></td>
