Amazon''s eCommerce Transaction Risk Management Services (TRMS) group designs and builds high performance software systems and processes that identify and prevent fraudulent transactions for Amazon.com and third-party Marketplace sellers. Fraud prevention is a high stakes game where our software teams strive to outsmart those who attempt to defraud Amazon and our third party sellers. In addition to fraud prevention, Amazon''s TRMS group designs and builds systems and processes to manage seller performance and to extend the A-to-Z ''safe shopping'' guarantee to buyers and sellers worldwide. Our global systems ensure the best possible shopping experience for customers who purchase from third-party sellers, thereby increasing the trust customers place in the Amazon Marketplace and contributing to the growth of this key business..<BR><BR>We are currently looking for a talented Oracle database administrator. The DBA will perform administration and engineering for multiple large databases. The ideal candidate will have experience with large-scale, massively concurrent, highly available distributed Oracle systems on a UNIX/Linux platform. Successful candidates will have the ability to rapidly troubleshoot complex technical problems under pressure. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are required.<BR><BR>Responsibilities<BR><BR>* Day-to-day operations of fast-paced complex distributed database environments supporting primarily OLTP and few data warehouse environments.<BR>* Ownership of upkeep and operational stability of Oracle instances.<BR>* Test, validate and implement performance and resource optimization improvements in consultation with development and remote DBA teams.<BR>* Maintain development and production environments.<BR>* Work on multiple development projects spanning many teams.<BR>* Participate in on-call for production databases - daily maintenance, monitoring, problem resolution and internal customer/dev support<BR>Basic Qualifications<BR>Qualifications<BR><BR>* Strong Oracle RDBMS experience.<BR>* Six plus years experience as an Oracle DBA in a large 24x7 production environment.<BR>* Experience with Oracle 11g for at least 2 years on Unix/Linux<BR>* Extensive experience in data guard, advanced replication/streams<BR>* Experience in designing and optimizing databases for scalability and performance.<BR>* Experience in database/application performance tuning and advanced knowledge in partitioning.<BR>* Experience as a lead DBA<BR>* Knowledge of Oracle Database internals like data structures.<BR>* Extensive exp                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                </font></td>
