We own Amazon''s famous Customer Reviews - one of the world?s largest community driven products. User contributed reviews are a tremendously visible aspect of Amazon''s brand and a key competitive advantage. Reviews materially impact dozens of Amazon?s international retail businesses and are considered a tier-1 critical feature. We are growing rapidly in order to build disruptive new features, enterprise scale web services and multiple new mobile/tablet applications. This is in addition to scaling our already insanely high load systems to even larger volumes by smartly using cloud services. We are looking to solve core CS challenges including machine learning, mining big data, distributed caching, game theory and real-time search. We obsess about reducing the latency for our customers and are working on becoming the fastest shopping experience on the internet. Our features and designs have inspired many others, but we are relentlessly maintaining our lead in innovation.<BR><BR>We are looking for seasoned technical leadership and people management in the form of a Software Development Manager. You are our ideal candidate if you have real-world software development experience, can lead a team of whip-smart software developers and are interested not just in building software, but shipping customer facing products that will be used by millions of people every day.<BR><BR>You will need to make architectural decisions with multi-year effects, drive consensus for hard technical trade-offs and lead risky R&D efforts to success. The team will be exploring a wide variety of technologies to build community driven applications at a very large scale so we need someone with an active interest in researching and evangelizing new tools and technologies. Qualified candidates must have excellent leadership and strategic customer-focused thinking skills demonstrated through multiple successful product release cycles. Proven ability to collaborate, communicate well, as well as mentor and grow high potential engineers is a must.
