<td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Title: Engineer II - Mechanical<BR>Location: US-Washington-Seattle<BR>Job Number:_MEC1006M<BR><?xml:namespace prefix = o /> <BR>The Engineer II -- Mechanical position for BD Biosciences Advanced Cytometry Group applies extensive technical expertise to product development projects in the field of high speed cell sorters and in R&D exploration of these instruments. The successful candidate develops technical solutions to solve complex mechanical, optical and fluidic challenges requiring the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. The successful candidate will have a strong engineering background, but ideally will have a broad background across several disciplines, including biology, physics, and electrical engineering.<BR>* Contributes to concept development, and design development activities, including prototyping, concept generation, design optimization, and sensitivity and capability assessment<BR>* Provides documentation for the transfer of designs from the Advanced Cytometry Group to BD associates in the manufacturing division, including fully dimensioned models, drawings and assemblies<BR>* Helps determine technical objectives of a project or assignment and assesses the impact of proposed design on functionality<BR>* Directs and implements investigation on problem areas of extensive technical/technological scope and complexity<BR>* Directs experimentation and collates results to determine appropriate course of action<BR>* Contributes to a culture of innovation by generating novel concepts to improve current product performance or to enhance ability to address customer needs with new product ideas<BR>* Assists in preparing and testing prototypes for manufacture and helps document these test procedures for assembly and validation<BR><BR>Qualifications:<BR><BR>Education and Experience:<?xml:namespace prefix = o /><BR>* Must have at least a minimum of a Bachelor''s Degree and 2 years of experience in Mechanical, Biomedical or closely related discipline.<BR>Minimum Knowledge and Skills:<BR><BR>* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills<BR>* Proficiency in SolidWorks modeling software and familiarity with drawing standards for fully dimensioned GD&T drawings<BR>* Proficiency in tolerance stack-up analysis involving multiple components<BR>* Experience with design optimization for multi-component mechanical assemblies<BR>* Experience with high-volume manufacturing processes such as molding and stamping, and automated assembly and packaging is a plus<BR>* Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate (verbal & written) concepts<BR><BR>Job: Mechanical Engineering </font></td>
