UW Medicine is comprised of UW Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, UW School of Medicine, and UW Physicians Network. The IT Services organization is responsible for ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the mission of patient care, research and teaching.<BR><BR>UW Medicine IT Services is looking for an outstandingEPIC CACHE DATABASE ADMINISTRATORto join the team! The Epic Cache Database Administrator is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring the Epic database and associated programming. The Epic application is a UW Medicine enterprise system and the DBA supports all UW Medicine Entities including UW Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, UW Physicians Network, UW Physicians, Hall Health Primary Care Clinic and Eastside Specialty Center. The occupant of this position will work with a small team of experts in Epic systems support to build, configure, deploy, implement, operate, support and maintain the database of the highly complex, fast-growing Epic environment. The goal of the position is to ensure the reliability, security and performance of major UW enterprise systems. This may include numerous environments within the system, including production, development, test and training environments. Knowledge of how to build systems, secure them, operate them, translate functional requirements into technical ones, participate as an integral member of a highly skilled team, solve problems and have broad-based infrastructure knowledge are among the key success factors.<BR><BR>The TSO Epic Systems team is comprised of members who have among them the range of technical skills and experience needed to support the systems infrastructure for UW Medicine''s Epic applications environment. The person in this position will be expected to possess skills relating to Cache Database systems, Epic application infrastructure, Unix operating systems, along with scripting and programming knowledge. This individual will need to interact effectively on a daily basis with other team members, whose skills and expertise are primarily in other areas such as AIX Unix systems, Microsoft Windows server technology, Citrix application hosting, server virtualization and web hosting.
