The Facilities Operations Maintenance Specialist evaluates equipment operations problems and emergencies in buildings on campuses having multiple buildings which are non-contiguous; takes appropriate action to return equipment to its normal operation condition; and monitors building systems operations to ensure their normal functioning. Responds to emergency calls and reported malfunctions on mechanical, electrical or utility systems, e.g., elevators, hospital life support systems; apply journey-level knowledge in associated trades; work independently without on-shift supervision and exercise independent judgment to solve problems; call in and coordinate the work of other mechanics during emergencies.<BR><BR>A summary of the Facilities Operations Maintenance Specialist responsibilities:<BR><BR>? Inspect and initiate corrective action on a variety of mechanical, electrical and air conditioning equipment; determine need to call in and coordinate other mechanics as necessary to resolve emergency conditions.<BR>? Have a working knowledge of the building systems and sequence of operations.<BR>? Be able to competently read and interpret prints for troubleshooting and repair of systems as needed.<BR>?
