All job responsibilities will be performed to support the mission of patient care, research and teaching. The ICD-10 Coding Analyst will work closely with the ICD-10 Coding Manager and other project team members analyzing clinical documentation, coding and supporting the UW Medicine clinicians to implement associated documentation changes. The ICD-10 analyst will provide ICD-10 support for dual coding in the transition to ICD10.<BR><BR>Position Responsibilities: Under the guidance of the ICD-10 Coding Manager, the ICD-10 Coding Analyst will support coding and documentation improvement projects targeted to achieve compliance with the transition to ICD-10 on October 14th 2014. The ICD-10 Coding Analyst responsibilities will include review of current ICD-9-CM documentation and coding, analysis of current documentation and documentation requirements for ICD-10, support creation of native ICD-10 data sets, and provide support for creation of payor testing data, scenarios and validation of data. Provide Coding and Clinical Documentation (CDI) expertise to the Coding and CDI teams at all UW Medicine entities.<BR><BR>UW Medicine?s ICD-10 Program is a shared services organization, which supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of UW Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, Northwest Medical Center, Valley Medical Center, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Airlift Northwest, UW School of Medicine, UW Physicians Network, Northwest Physician Network, Valley Physician Network, and UW Neighborhood Clinics. The ICD10 Program is responsible for comprehensive Assessment, Planning, Implementation & Stabilization of the ICD-10 Medical documentation and coding standards, and related activities across all UW Medicine entities to ensure ICD10 compliance, and minimal impact by the CMS mandated date of compliance. The ICD-10-CM Analyst will review documentation and coding from all UW Medicine entities.<BR><BR>Position Complexities - <BR>? The clinical environment which is supported by multiple EMR applications, across entities with varied structures & practices, is made up of complex sets of multi-disciplinary clinical and administrative workflows across care settings.<BR>The ICD-10 Coding Analyst needs to gain an understanding of each entity?s HIM, Coding, & CDI processes and the processes related the utilization of code assignment or assessment across UW Medicine.<BR>?
