The department now employs 800 people who work at the award-winning University of Washington Medical Center (ranked among the top medical centers in the United States as rated by U.S. News & World Report 2011), Harborview Medical Center (the region''s only Level I Trauma center, known for innovations and excellence in trauma care and its centers of emphasis: Trauma, Burn, Neurosciences, AIDS/STD CARER, and mentally- and medically- vulnerable populations.), and many other clinical and research facilities in the area. This individual will sort and prioritize initial specimens and requests, centrifuge and aliquot appropriate specimen type and quantity as ordered, process data entry of patient information and tests requested process timed urine collections: add preservatives, measure, aliquot, etc.<BR><BR>Additionally, duties will include: perform blood draw on adults, children and babies. Assist in orientation, training and support of new employees. For detailed information on Benefits for this position,click here.<BR>Requirements:<BR>Completion of a laboratory assistants'' course approved by American Society of Clinical Pathologists OR two years of chemical, or clinical or public health laboratory experience. <BR><BR>Training in medical technology or education in college with courses in laboratory sciences may be substituted, year for year, for experience. <BR><BR>Must be Licensed to perform phlebotomy as a Health Care Professional or be certified as a Health Care Assistant in Washington State.<BR>Desired:<BR>Assoc </font></td>
