This individual will provide leadership, program development and oversight in three program areas; 1) fire safety/prevention, 2) emergency preparedness, and 3) hazardous materials. Supervise up to four(4)employees professional salaried and hourly employees, permanent and limited term, and student assistants.<BR><BR><BR>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<BR><BR>?   Interview and hire staff within these program areas; supervise, coach and mentor staff, developed job assignments and related materials; and conduct performance evaluations.<BR>?   Manage operational budget.<BR>?   Serve as liaison with the Seattle Fire Department (SFD)for administrative and technical matters for the University of Washington<BR>?   Work with various campus departments including the Capital Projects Office (CPO), Facilities Services (FS) , Housing and Food Services (HFS), Risk Management, School of Medicine and other key organizational units with a stake in fire safety and related programs.<BR>?   Serve as a member of the departmental management team;<BR>?   Contribute directly to and be accountable for creating and sustaining a culture of service, accountability, and excellence within the Department of Environmental Health & Safety;<BR>?   Participate in development and implementation of a departmental strategic plan.<BR><BR>Program specific responsibilities which may include direct service or delegation and supervision of others are as follows:<BR><BR>Fire Safety/Prevention:<BR><BR>?   Oversee the fire safety and prevention programs at the University including, but not limited to, fire prevention surveys, fire investigations, hot works, public event safety, and tent permits.<BR>?   Develops the Annual Fire Safety Report to comply with the Higher Education Act (C                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     </font></td>
