               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Under general direction, performs advanced professional mechanical engineering and controls engineering planning, interface management, integration activity, design, construction support and system commissioning involving multiple consultants and contractors on multiple projects. Provide engineering expertise that focuses on the modeling of mechanical and electrical facilities and emergency response control systems. Must be familiar with controller design using control theory and have a working knowledge of developing and delivering automated interfaces between systems and devices.  This engineer must be proficient in process control logic, understand control wiring diagrams, and be capable of overseeing the installation and commissioning of control systems.<BR><BR>Examples of Duties:  <BR>The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.<BR><BR>• Oversees assigned integration tasks and is involved in defining the interfaces of mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Suppression) with controls or building management systems, SCADA systems, electrical systems, fire alarm systems, structural design, and architectural features.<BR>• Performs a variety of professional level duties in support of assigned mechanical and control systems engineering projects including review of; HVAC designs and design calculations; Tunnel Emergency Ventilation designs and calculations, plumbing designs and pump calculations, Fire response system designs and calculations performed by ST consultant teams.  Reviews designs with respect to code requirements, technical adequacy, sustainability, constructability, maintainability, and life cycle cost.<BR>• Responsible to develop, oversee and participate in equipment and system commissioning for large scale transit projects.  <BR>• Integration of fire alarms systems with emergency ventilation systems and building management systems. <BR>• Continuously incorporate new technology, ST sustainability measures, recommendations from ST facilities and maintenance personnel into new designs.<BR>• Develop engineered designs and provide support to mechanical retrofit projects for existing facilities, including but not limited to HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Suppression system upgrades.  <BR>• Provides a variety of technical information to management and other staff related to assigned mechanical and control systems engineering projects; analyzes problems and issues; and provides recommendations to management staff; responds to questions and inquiries from the general public, consultants, contractors, engineering professionals, and Agency staff regarding information related to area of assignment.<BR>• Maintains records concerning assignments; prepares reports and briefings on project status, progress, changes, and items related to scope, schedule, and budget; and analyzes tracks and reports on trends in project development, schedule, and budget.<BR>• Provides support to the department/division and others on matters as directed; serves as staff on a variety of committees as assigned; prepares and presents staff reports and other necessary correspondence; attends and participates in professional group meetings; maintains awareness of new trends and developments in the fields related to area of assignment; incorporates new developments as appropriate; ensures processes, policies and practices are interpreted and applied consistently and effectively; ensures accountability and compliance with all current and applicable state and federal laws, Agency policies and procedures, rules and regulations.<BR> <BR>To apply, and to view full job description, please visit http://agency.governmentjobs.com/soundtransit/default.cfm</font></td>
