We develop sophisticated algorithms that involve learning from large amounts of past data, such as prices, promotions, similar products, and a product?s attributes, in order to forecast the demand of over 10 million products. These forecasts are used to automatically order more than $200 million worth of inventory weekly, establish labor plans for over 10,000 employees, and predict the overall company?s financial performance. The work is complex and important to Amazon. The better our forecasts, the more we can lower prices for customers and offer in-stock selection.<BR><BR>You will have an opportunity to manage a team of data engineers to build and maintain a Forecasting metrics portal. Internal business analysts and external Retail customers will be using the portal to understand and investigate forecast inaccuracy. You are a leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivery.<BR><BR>? Responsible for the overall development life cycle of the Forecasting metrics portal.<BR>? Responsible for the latency, visual display, and accuracy of the BI portal<BR>? Manage and execute again project plans and delivery commitments<BR>? Manage the day-to-day activities of the data engineering team<BR>? Work closely with the BI team to architect and develop the best technical design and data modeling<BR>? Work closely with the analytics team and TPMs to define requirements<BR>? Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management<BR>Basic Qualifications<BR><BR>* Strong Computer science background required. A Bachelor?s degree or higher in computer science is required with a minimum of 5+ years of industry experience.<BR>* 4+ years in working with large data sets and analyzing data to identify patterns.<BR>* 5+ years in data warehousing projects with at least 4 years of full life cycle experience in implementation and support of DW Solutions on Oracle Platform.<BR>* 2+ years people management experience<BR>Preferred Qualifications<BR><BR>* Hands-on experience with OBIEE 11g.<BR>* Should have very good technical expertise and strong business skills, as he/she will lead the team in delivering Business Intelligence solutions.<BR>* Must be aware of testing process and DW implementation methodologies.<BR>* Strong customer focus, ownership, urgency and drive.<BR>* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.<BR>* Effective analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. </font></td>
