               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">LocationSeattle, WA<BR>Security Clearance Required?No Security Clearance Requiredabout security clearance definitions<BR>Position Description<BR>We are seeking a research and development polymer chemist with experience in the synthesis, formation, structure, and properties of polymeric sealants to focus on developing new and improved materials for a variety of aerospace applications. These applications require creative development of novel chemical solutions to difficult problems (e.g. wide environmental range and extremely long in-service life). We anticipate that the successful candidate will be able to draw upon such disparate fields as bio-material, bio-chemical, and nano-material engineering to develop the best possible solutions to each challenge. We will give extra consideration to candidates who also possess a broader organic synthesis background and experience writing or evaluating research proposals.<BR><BR>The successful candidate will join a small, fast-paced team dedicated to developing advanced sealants for use in Boeing products. Responsibilities include: defining, developing, promoting, and managing new technology development from concept to product; reporting and responding to management, customer, and stakeholder requests, including presentation of progress reports; identifying and championing new or improved applications for emerging or existing products; and supporting standardization of these technologies across product lines and business units.<BR><BR>Boeing Research and Technology is the preferred provider of technologies and innovation across the entire Boeing enterprise and for external customers. We champion innovation in current and future products and services, we act as global scouts for innovative technologies, and we solve our customers'' most difficult technology challenges.<BR><BR>Required qualifications and capabilities:<BR>+Ph.D. or equivalent experience in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering;<BR>+experience in synthesizing novel sealant chemistries;<BR>+experience developing innovative test protocols requiring coordination with internal and external customers;<BR>+ability to characterize the underlying mechanisms of polymerization and polymer structure evolution;<BR>+capability of developing improved sealant systems and architectures for a wide range of aerospace applications using first principles, experimental characterization, and modeling;<BR>+capability to identify, oversee, and resolve complex technical integration issues associated with the implementation of new sealant chemistries;<BR>+experience and knowledge required to ensure developed sealant systems meet design and certification requirements;<BR>+ability to provide leadership, technical direction and oversight of other engineers and technicians as well as meeting budget targets and milestones;<BR>+ability to represent the Company on technic                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      </font></td>
