The person selected for this position will in charge of developing various parts, components, and products (e.g. automotive parts, aeronautic parts, sports equipment, etc.) using innovative and novel composite material forms which have been developed in the laboratory. The successful candidate will work under limited supervision and will not be responsible for whole or partial research programs, nor will he/she be tied to a specific task or program, rather will contribute to the successful realization of the various programs.<BR><BR>The employee will be responsible for development of innovative composite parts, components, and products in the laboratory. The focus of his/her work will be on the design, development, and pre-production of such articles.<BR>?Design includes using computer aided design (CAD) to create digital models and render animations for the part. <BR>?Development includes tasks which relate to the manufacturing the piece, such as mold making, machining, and material testing. <BR>?Pre-production includes using computer aided manufacturing (CAM) to create digital files for different machinery (waterjet cutting machine, fabric cutting machine, 3D FDM printer, etc.) necessary to the production of the part which requires such files. <BR>?The employee will be responsible for operating machinery in the lab which cannot be operated by untrained personnel. This includes the waterjet cutting machine, the fabric cutting machine, and the autoclave.  <BR><BR><BR>As a UW employee, you will enjoy generous benefits and work/life programs.
