The Research Scientist will work in a neuroimmunology laboratory in the Department of Neurology investigating the immune response to post-stroke infection and potential therapeutic interventions. Under general supervision the successful candidate will independently perform scientific investigative procedures, interpret results, determine their consistency with experimental goals and review the applicable literature.   <BR><BR>Responsibilities:<BR><BR>Scientific Experimentation and Procedures<BR>?   Handle small animals, carry out behavioral assessments, provide general husbandry and drug administration<BR>?   Prepare and update laboratory protocols as performed<BR>?   Assist with immunoassay work, i.e., Cell culture, ELISpot, ELISA, tissue immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry<BR>?   Document lab experiments and other matters in an organized, detailed and accurate manner<BR>?   Communicate laboratory matters with other laboratory personnel professionally and thoroughly<BR>?   Review applicable literature<BR>?   Responsible for the meticulous and detailed care and upkeep of laboratory equipment<BR><BR>Data Entry and Analysis<BR>?   Use SPSS to input data and conduct analysis<BR>?   Use Microsoft Office, particularly Excel to record and evaluate scientific data<BR><BR>Laboratory Support<BR>?   Do routine maintenance of the laboratory and make solutions and order supplies<BR>?   Other duties as required.<BR><BR>For detailed information on Benefits for this positionclick here.<BR>Requirements:<BR>Bachelor''s degree in chemistry, biology or science related field<BR><BR>At least one year''s experience in a laboratory setting handling small animals<BR><BR>Willing to                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              </font></td>
