This position is responsible for managing the safety and overall day to day operation of the lab, and with assisting lab scientists with experiments.<BR><BR>Job Duties and Responsibilities:<BR><BR>* Work with the PI to write, submit and update animal use and care protocols<BR><BR>* Maintain sophisticated lab equipment and hire vendors when appropriate;<BR><BR>* Track lab inventory and order supplies;<BR><BR>* Maintain lab databases<BR><BR>* Hire new lab techs by writing job descriptions, interviewing<BR><BR>* Train new employees on safety and lab procedures and techniques<BR><BR>* Supervise lab techs by approving timesheets, recommending corrective action, giving performance feedback<BR><BR>* Oversee the lab environment for timely completion of projects, efficiency, and adherence to budget.<BR><BR>* Directs the sharing of resources between peer labs<BR><BR>* Develop protocol for implementation of new techniques<BR><BR>* Document all safety procedures and comply EH&S requirements<BR><BR>* Collaborate on scientific journals, presentations, and grant applications<BR><BR>* Maintain and characterize mouse myogenic stem cells<BR><BR>* Develop and test gene therapy vectors<BR><BR>For detailed information on Benefits for this positionclick here.<BR>Requirements:<BR>Bachelor''s degree in Chemistry, Biology or related field AND Two to three years experience.<BR><BR>Effectively knows and uses the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a partifular field of specialization; continues development of technical expertise and knowledge through experience and application.<BR><BR>Familiar with advanced molecular biology, embryonic or iPS stem cells, maintaining databases.<BR><BR>Equivalent education/experience will subs                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                </font></td>
