The person in this position will work with scientists and managers from universities, NGOs, and wildlife/land management agencies to collaboratively develop quantitative methods for identifying spatial priorities for connectivity conservation under climate change. <BR><BR>Primary duties and responsibilities include planning, conducting, and directing extramurally-funded research on connectivity conservation planning; organizing and maintaining diverse working groups for conducting collaborative research and planning; disseminating results to diverse audiences, via preparation of technical reports for end-users of research products, non-technical reports and interpretive materials for laymen, scientific reports for peer-reviewed publication, and presentations for scientific and conservation organizations. <BR><BR><BR>As a UW employee, you will enjoy generous benefits and work/life programs. Doctoral degree in Conservation Biology<BR>? 3-5 years? experience<BR>Demonstrated ability to develop a productive research program in connectivity conservation and climate change adaptation planning; demonstrated ability to work closely with state/federal agency, NGO, and academic collaborators; experience applying spatial conservation planning methods and tools (proficiency with ArcGIS required); exceptional ability to communicate research findings to diverse audiences, and make research products broadly available to intended end-users <BR><BR>Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.<BR>Desired:<BR>Proficiency with ModelBuilder and Python<BR><BR>Application Process<BR><BR>Part of the application process for this position includes completing anonline cover letter assessment,as well as the Employment Eligibility Assessment to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
